Malibu AudioVision was founded by owner Norm Donaldson in Malibu, California in 1983. What started as a love of music of all kinds and a fascination for electronic gear has blossomed into a custom Home Theater company that handles everything from component sales and system upgrades to complete Home Theater design and installation. Norm built his first amplifier in the tenth grade, custom speakers in the eleventh grade, and his first custom install when he was a junior in College. He has been upgrading ever since.

Malibu AudioVision prides itself on giving the customer the best sound and picture for the dollar. We have done systems from $3000 to $ Six Figures. Our systems have been featured in JAG and Twin Peaks and are in prestigious homes throughout the southland. We particularly take special care to preserve the phase and time relationships of the sound of music and film. Our systems are made to sound spectacular with music as well as film. Music is much more difficult to reproduce accurately so you can be sure that film will be done wonderfully as well. On the video side we handle direct view Plasma, LCD, & DLP and D-ILA front and rear projection. We are very excited about these new video technologies. Malibu Audio Vision is currently located in Moorpark, California where we relocated from Malibu in 1998. At this location we have built a custom dedicated Home Theater that features acoustically designed dimensions, tiered seating, and the ability to control all light. It has DLP front projection by InFocus Screenplay, Stewart Filmscreen Luxus Deluxe widescreen, Theta Digital Electronics (CasaBlanca III, Enterprise Mono Blocks, Dreadnaught, Compli, Six Shooter and Data III.) For speakers it features the fabulous Vandersteen Model 5A & 5, and VCC-5. We also have a 4 channel 8 driver TC2+ 15” infinite baffle subwoofer system driven by an ATI 3004. You gotta hear this. Broadcast is handled by Dish Network 622 HDTV DVR satellite receiver with terrestrial HDTV module. We can even play you vinyl Records on our Oracle Premier Turntable with Graham Arm and Van den Hul Frog Cartridge which is processed by an Audio Research PH-5 vacuum tube phono stage. We also have a typical living room system with Pioneer HD RPTV, 7.1 Yamaha Receiver, and M & K, and Jamo Speakers. We do demonstrations by appointment. All of our systems come with instruction, computer programmed remote control with macros (to give you one button execution) and technical support. We will install any product you purchase and program it if necessary and we will teach you how to use it.

We concentrate on the Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara County areas and Mammoth Lakes we are. We are flexible and will consider your job regardless of location.
